As a young man I believed that our path is set out for us. If we listen to The Universe and trust our instincts, we’ll make decisions that will keep us on that path. Some call this predestination; I prefer to see it as being guided by a benevolent celestiality – we have free choice to follow the path or not. The analogy I’ve always had in my mind is from The Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy finds herself in an unknown land, and in order to reach her destination she needs to follow a path that will take her there; stepping off the path sometimes leads to undesirable circumstances.
So here I am in my 50s, living the life I’ve always wanted in a place that I’ve often described as paradise, with the woman of my dreams. Getting here has been a real challenge – for many years it seemed as though whenever I tried to get my life in order it was like pulling teeth. The Universe seemed to know that the time was not yet right for everything to come together, so whatever I tried just didn’t seem to work. I wasn’t following the road.
When I let go of trying so hard, and let The Universe guide me, everything fell into place almost immediately. The decisions that I made just felt “right”, and as a result incredible things happened that allowed me to find my Oz.
