Look down into the abyss. Endless absence swirling around your consciousness. Oblivion.
Sometimes it feels like that to wake up – to taste the world and its blackness. Unsound thoughts colliding with the dissonance of reality.
You go through the motions. You put on the veil of normality. You hide the truth from the world.
The truth is that you’re coming apart at the seams, like an old stuffed toy. Hopes and dreams spilling out, lost in the materiality of your everyday existence.
Life is a switchback – a journey of hits and misses. Miss enough times though, you’ll start to fear that you’ll never make the majors again.
Multiply your fears by your failures – the number creeps up and up. Suddenly the cliff you have to climb is exponentially larger.
Baby. Steps.
The only way to climb this hill is by putting one foot in front of the other. Over and over and over again.
Hoping that one day you’ll crest that brow, and then once more you’ll see the beautiful horizon.
Beautifully said my friend. But please remember…
“Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you are climbing it.”
