Touching the soul

Posted on January 30, 2022 by Andrew

It has charms to soothe a savage breast,

Comforting the hurt and anguish of life,

A pillow on which to rest a troubled head,

Oil on troubled waters.

It knows of rage,

It tells of violence and anger,

Portraying fear and hate,

A disturbance felt deep inside.

Harmony, tranquility, peace,

Endless beauty,

Serene and true.

Flights of fancy carrying us aloft.

And with all of this, a gift is given,

A wondrous insight that touches our soul,

For all of the many emotions it conveys,

The greatest of these is love.
